He is the son of the legendary Javed Bashir, one of Pakistan’s most iconic classical and Qawwal vocalists, and the nephew of acclaimed classical vocalist and Coke Studio artist Akbar Ali. Growing up under their guidance, Junaid has absorbed the essence of classical raags, Sufi music, and Qawwali, making him a true heir to this spiritual and musical heritage.
At just 24 years of age, Junaid has been performing for the last five years, carrying forward the teachings of his elders and the spiritual depth of his lineage. His musical roots trace back to his great-grandfather, the renowned Ustad Ghazanfar Ali Khan (Ustad Gajju Khan Sahib)—a revered classical ustad—and his grandfather, Ustad Bashir Ahmad Khan Sahib, both of whom were pillars of the Qawwali tradition.
